Dr. Sushma Appaiah CEO, Giggles of livez (Golz) was invited to conduct workshop for parents of specially abled children. This workshop was invited at Department of Audiology, All India Institute of Speech and Hearing (AIISH) Mysore, Acadamic Block.

General recommendations on nutritive foods was given for the children upto the age of 12 years in the talk “Effect of diet on behaviour of children.” Dr.Sushma emphasised on importance of balance diet. Through her presentation the portion size of foods. Benefits of immunity booster, fruits & vegetable in the daily foods were discussed.

The specific nutrition requirement of special children needs pertaining to behaviour was presented, followed by interaction with parents. The role of coco, artificial sweetness, colours and preservatives, Essential fatty acids were discussed elaborately, for children with autism, ADHD and hearing loss. Many queries by parents were satisfied especially on intake of chocolates, health drinks, malted drinks etc.

In this workshop recommended menu for specific needs of the children, was also provided to the parents by Nutrition Consultant, Dr.Sushma Appaiah. At the end of the session Golz was able to reach the parents a simple message that specially abled children growth & behaviour requirement can be met through a balanced simple, food and certain food should be avoided or given depending on their specific requirments.

Along with the medication, nutrition & right food too has significant role to play in managing the behaviour of childrens. Specific do’s & don’t were told to the parents.

This workshop was attended by around 55 parents. Golz team was appreciated for this program & CEO was presented the certificate by prof.Asha Yathiraj, Head, Implantable devices, AIISH, Mysore.

This workshop was also attended by HOD Audiology, Dr.Ajith , Asha Yathiraj, Dr.Rajlakshmi, Revathi, Dhanalakshmi & many staff of audiology.
